Ingredients

Pasta and Seafood
  • 8 oz fettuccine or your preferred pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
Sauce Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Garnish
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Sautéing the Aromatics
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Adding Shrimp and Crab
  1. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Gently fold in the lump crab meat.
Making the Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and Cajun seasoning, stirring well. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
Combining with Pasta
  1. Once the sauce is thickened, add the cooked pasta directly to the skillet. If too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
Serving
  1. Plate the creamy Cajun pasta, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.

Notes

Don't overcook the shrimp to avoid a rubbery texture. Feel free to customize the spice level to your liking.
