Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda To help the cookies rise.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Bring to room temperature before use.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Packed.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature is best.
Add-ins
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or milk chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. You can also freeze the dough for later use.
