Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well blended.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this mixture into the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For chewier cookies, underbake slightly. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to one week.
