Ingredients

For the truffles
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped Chop chocolate into small pieces for easier melting.
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter Smooth consistency preferred.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness to the filling.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 cup crushed peanuts or cocoa powder for rolling Optional, for added texture and decoration.

Method

Preparation
  1. Melt the Chocolate: Place the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat it in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
  2. Mix the Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined into a thick paste.
  3. Form the Truffles: Scoop out the peanut butter mixture and roll it into balls the size of small marbles. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the baking sheet for about 15 minutes to firm up the peanut butter balls.
  5. Coat in Chocolate: Dip each ball into the melted chocolate until completely coated. Use a fork to lift them out and let the excess chocolate drip off.
  6. Roll Them Up: Optionally, roll the chocolate-coated truffles in crushed peanuts or cocoa powder while the chocolate is still warm.
  7. Chill Again: Return the coated truffles to the baking sheet and refrigerate for another 15-20 minutes until set.
  8. Enjoy: Once cool and firm, serve these elegant truffles to impress your friends and family.

Notes

These truffles store well in the fridge for about a week. Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate or toppings.
